190627-N-NU281-1420 SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN (June 27, 2019) Seaman Jaelin Haugabook prepares to chock and chain an SH-32 "Cougar" helicopter, assigned to the Chilean Navy's Esquadron de Helicopteros de Ataque (HA-1) as it lands on the flight deck aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) during a helicopter cross deck flight operations exercise. Michael Murphy is participating in UNITAS LX in Valparaiso, Chile, from June 24-July 3. UNITAS, Latin for "unity," is the world's longest-running multinational maritime exercise. Conceived in 1959 and first executed in 1960, UNITAS is a demonstration of U.S. commitment to the region and the strong relationships forged between our partner nations and their militaries.
