JTFB, Ministry of Health partner to bring medical care to Cortés

Twenty-two U.S. military service members assigned to Joint Task Force-Bravo worked alongside Honduran military and relief organizations to conduct a medical readiness training exercise in the department of Cortes, Honduras, Nov. 5-7, treating more than 800 patients.

California Marines heading to Central and South America on Amphibious Ship

Approximately 200 U.S. Marines and Sailors will embark on a U.S. Navy amphibious ship heading to Central and South America for the month of October. Marines and Sailors from across I Marine Expeditionary Force will participate in various humanitarian assistance and disaster relief-focused events in Central and South America.

Soldiers with the U.S. Army Reserve assigned to Joint Task Force-Bravo conducted a Medical Readiness Training Exercise with Honduran military counterparts in the Atlántida department, Honduras, to provide basic medical services at local schools in the Frutera, Saladito and Boca del Toro villages, August 6 – 8.

Guyana to Host New Horizons Humanitarian Assistance Exercise

New Horizons, the U.S. Southern Command’s annual training exercise, kicks off in Linden next month. The three month event will train U.S. military civil engineers and medical professionals, who will work alongside Guyanese military and health professionals in joint humanitarian assistance exercises.

Marines wrap up 4 months of aid work after Fuego eruption in Guatemala

On June 3 of this year, the Fuego volcano, which lies near Guatemala City, erupted sending ash and a pyroclastic flow through homes and neighborhoods. By June 5, 99 people were reported dead, more than 200 were missing, and thousands of Guatemalans were displaced.
