Southcom Commander Describes Complex Global Security Threats

WASHINGTON — A spectrum of state and nonstate actors across multiple regions and domains calls for a new way of harnessing the maritime domain, the commander of U.S. Southern Command said during a Surface Navy Association symposium.

South America Defense Conference Examines Military’s Role

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay — Military leaders from South America, the U.S. and Canada met in Montevideo, Uruguay, to discuss global peacekeeping operations, transregional threat networks and the integration of women in military service during an annual defense conference.
