U.S. Southern Command Donates Two Mobile Clinics to the People of Trinidad and Tobago

On September 18, the United States Southern Command’s (SOUTHCOM) Humanitarian Assistance Program through the U.S. Embassy Port of Spain donated two mobile medical units, known as “Clinics in a Can,” valued at US$490,534 to the people of Trinidad and Tobago through the Ministry of Health.

Continuing Promise 2018 Arrives in Guatemala

PUERTO BARRIOS, Guatemala (NNS) -- A team comprised of 250 Navy and Army service members disembarked the Military Sealift Command's expeditionary fast transport vessel USNS Spearhead (T-EPF 1) after arriving in Puerto Barrios, April 5, for its second mission stop during Continuing Promise 2018 (CP-18).

Exchanging Medical Information, Experiencing Culture in Honduras

For one U.S. Navy lieutenant, Southern Partnership Station 17 (SPS 17) is more than just a chance to exchange information. It is a way of connecting with her heritage, and a way to change the lives of people like her.

Preventive Med supports local pediatric nutrition assessment

La Paz, Honduras — Personnel from the Joint Task Force-Bravo Medical Element worked with Honduran counterparts from the Ministry of Health from June 14-15, 2017 for the second part of an ongoing pediatric nutrition study in communities of La Paz, Honduras.

Beyond the Horizon 2017 planners meet with civic partners regarding upcoming medical event in San Ignacio

Command team members and medical planners from Beyond the Horizon 2017 met with Cayo district leaders April 27 to discuss operations for the upcoming medical event scheduled for May 8 through May 16 in San Ignacio. BTH 2017 is a partnership exercise between U.S. Southern Command and the Government of Belize designed to improve health and educational facilities by providing five construction projects and three health care events throughout the country.

MEDRETE and MPE missions support medical care in Honduras

COLÓN, Honduras — Thirty-four personnel from Joint Task Force-Bravo’s Medical Element, along with Joint Security Forces (JSF) and Joint Support Battalion (JSB), participated in a two-day Medical Readiness Training Exercise (MEDRETE) and a Military Partnership Engagement with the Honduran Armed Forces April 20-22, providing basic medical care for more the 1,500 patients.
