40th iteration of exercise TRADEWINDS 25 unites 26 nations promoting security in the Western Hemisphere

More than 1,000 service members, law enforcement professionals, government officials and other participants from 26 partner and allied nations gathered at Teteron Barracks, Chaguaramas, Trinidad and Tobago, on April 26 to officially commence TRADEWINDS 25, the U.S. Southern Command-sponsored, U.S. Army South-led multinational, multi-domain exercise.

Over 475 La Paz community members receive medical care

Service members assigned to Army Forces Command, Joint Task Force-Bravo, conducted a Medical Readiness Training Exercise with Honduran Air Force medical professionals and security personnel, Red Cross, Ministry of Health, Honduran National Police, Building Minds School’s volunteer translators and local municipality representatives at La Paz, Honduras, July 1-2, 2024.

Southern Vanguard 24 officially begins

Standing under the beaming Brazilian sun, Soldiers assigned Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) stood at close interval in formation as Brazilian Army Gen. Luciano Ghuilherme, the Military Command Northern commander, officially declared the start of Southern Vanguard 24, the morning of Nov. 6, 2023.

Information technology experts from partner nation members of the Conference of American Armies visited the U.S. Army South headquarters at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas, March 20-24, 2023.

U.S. Military Health Team will visit Guatemala in August

The 2022 Health Engagements Assistance Response Team (HEART 22) will visit hospitals in Guatemala City and Quetzaltenango in mid-August 2022. HEART 22 is a team of U.S. Army and Air Force medical and support personnel assigned to the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM). Approximately 25 members will travel to Guatemala.

Maj. Gen. William L. Thigpen is presented with the Brazilian Order of Military Merit medal by the Minister General of the Brazilian Army Gen. Luis Carlos Gomes Mattos during the Brazilian Army Day, April 19, in Brasilia, Brazil, celebrating the Army's 374th birthday. The Order of Merit is the highest honorary distinction of the Brazilian Army.

U.S. Army South held the Joint Synchronization Symposium at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston March 28-April 1 to synchronize and expand engagements to maintain or increase the U.S. presence in the Western Hemisphere.

U.S., Brazilian Pathfinders cross paths again at Southern Vanguard 22

As the sun set at the Agulhas Negras Military Academy in Resende, Brazil, Staff Sgt. Shayne Hayes readied his gear for another night in the elements. Hills, mountains, rivers and swamps surround him as he prepared for an early morning mock-raid of an urban town during Southern Vanguard 22, a combined air assault exercise with the U.S. and Brazilian armies.
