U.S. Southern Command Situational Assessment Team
A CH-47 Chinook helicopter from JTF-Bravo's 1st Battalion, 228 Aviation Regiment unloads a pallet of equipment and supplies during a deployment readiness exercise of the U.S. Southern Command Situational Assessment Team (SSAT) in Zambrano, Honduras, Feb. 21 through 23. The SSAT is a quick-reaction deployable team comprised of experts that provide the commander of USSOUTHCOM an immediate assessment of conditions and unique Department of Defense requirements which might be needed during a Humanitarian Assistance, Disaster Response event within the Central American Area of Responsibility.
