190628-N-NU281-1027 SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN (June 28, 2019) Lt. Kendall Johnson conducts pre-flight checks on an MH-60 Sea Hawk, assigned to the "Easyriders" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 37 prior to launching from the flight deck of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) for a photo exercise (PHOTOEX) with partnering navies during UNITAS LX. Michael Murphy is participating in UNITAS LX in Valparaiso, Chile, from June 24-July 3. UNITAS, Latin for "unity," is the world's longest-running multinational maritime exercise. Conceived in 1959 and first executed in 1960, UNITAS is a demonstration of U.S. commitment to the region and the strong relationships forged between our partner nations and their militaries.
