GEORGETOWN, Guyana – Brigadier George Bess, Guyana DefenCe Force Chief of Staff, addresses attendees during the opening ceremony for exercise Tradewinds 21. Bess commented on the importance of the exercise due to annual flooding, hurricanes and the threat of Narco-terrorism, June 13. Tradewinds 2021 is a U.S. Southern Command sponsored Caribbean security-focused exercise in the ground, air, sea, and cyber domains, working with partner nations to conduct joint, combined and interagency training, focused on increasing regional cooperation and stability.
