Soldiers from the Peruvian Army demonstrate an amphibious assault for U.S., Peruvian, and Chilean training audiences during Southern Vanguard 26 in Sauce, Peru, Sept. 10, 2026. The demonstration displayed the skills and tactics training audiences honed during the exercise. SV26 brings together approximately 400 warfighters to execute a field training exercise and command post exercise in a demanding austere jungle environment. The training includes combined operations designed to simulate real-world contingencies in the complex terrain of the Amazon Jungle hills of Sauce, Peru.
