SOUTHCOM Commander Attends Western Hemisphere Chiefs of Defense Conference

Gen. Francis Donovan, the newly appointed Commander of U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), participated in the inaugural Western Hemisphere Chiefs of Defense Conference from February 10–11 in Washington, D.C. Hosted by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, the conference brought together Chiefs of Defense and senior military representatives from 34 nations to discuss shared security priorities and challenges in the Western Hemisphere.

US, Panamanians Conduct Jungle Training

U.S. service members and Panamanian security forces are set to hold the Jungle Operations Training Course-Panama, JOTC-P, Feb. 3–20 at Base Aeronaval Cristóbal Colón. The 18-day program will be conducted in a combined U.S.-Panamanian setting and focused on honing jungle warfare skills to enhance multinational interoperability.

At the invitation of our regional partners, our aviation units participate in air shows to foster positive relations, strengthen regional partnerships and capabilities, and showcase our operational assets. Over the two day event, attendees met the crew, took photos, and experienced the aircraft up close, including the pilot and troop seats.
