AMISTAD 2025 launches final iteration in Panamá

U.S. Air Force and Panamanian medical teams launched the Panama iteration of AMISTAD 2025 with an opening ceremony at Hospital Dr. Gustavo Nelson Collado in Chitre, Panama, Sept. 15, 2025.
MAYPORT, Fla. (Sept. 15, 2025) Navy and Marine leaders celebrated the opening of UNITAS 2025 from onboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport docking ship USS Arlington (LPD 24) at Naval Station Mayport September 15, 2025. During UNITAS 2025 the 25 participating nations' forces will perform at-sea, littoral, and amphibious exercises along the East Coast of the United States in advance of the U.S. Navy's 250th Birthday. UNITAS, Latin for Unity, focuses on enhanced interoperability, building regional partnerships, and demonstrating U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet as the trusted maritime partner in the Caribbean, Central and South America. UNITAS 2025 Kicks off at Naval Station Mayport

UNITAS 2025 officially kicked off at an opening ceremony aboard Naval Station Mayport, Sept. 15. UNITAS, Latin for unity, united, or oneness, is the longest-running annual multinational maritime exercise in the world.
Dr. Ivonne Alvarado, Ophthalmologist at Dr. Luis “Chicho” Fabrega Regional Hospital evaluates a patient ahead of the eight-day eye surgical mission during Panamax Alpha Phase II, Santiago de Veraguas, Panama, Aug. 26, 2025, through Sept. 11, 2025. The surgical mission brought together 48 local and U.S. doctors, nurses, and technicians to complete cataract removals, corneal transplants and other complex procedures alleviating an over six-month wait for some. Restoring sight, strengthening bonds in Panama during Panamax Alpha Phase II

For more than 200 Panamanians in need, the gift of restored vision arrived this month at Dr. Luis “Chicho” Fabrega Regional Hospital. Patients from across five provinces received life-changing surgeries which not only improved eyesight but symbolized the strength of the U.S.-Panama partnership during Panamax Alpha Phase II, Aug. 26, 2025, through Sept. 11, 2025.

State Partnership Program conducts air assault planning exchange
