UNITAS 2016 Wraps up in Panama City

PANAMA CITY, Panama (NNS) -- Over 1000 naval and security forces from 11 nations said goodbye to Panama City, Panama as they concluded UNITAS 2016 during a ceremony, Sept. 28. Participants included the United States, Panama, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Peru and the United Kingdom.

Panamanian Naval Officer Leads Multinational Force Aboard U.S. Operated Flagship

GULF OF PANAMA (NNS) -- With over 33 years of experience in naval operations, Panama Navy Capt. Jose Jesus Rodriguez took command of Combined Task Force 401 during exercise UNITAS 2016. UNITAS is a multinational maritime exercise. Already in its 57th year, the goal of the exercise is to increase interoperability among participating navies and public security forces.

New commander to take reins of 12th AF, AFSOUTH

The President of the United States nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Mark D. Kelly for promotion to lieutenant general, and command of Twelfth Air Force and Air Forces Southern. He replaces Lt. Gen. Chris Nowland who has been selected to become the next Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at the Pentagon.

Joint Task Force-Bravo honors fallen emergency services personnel during 9/11 ceremony

Members of Joint Task Force-Bravo joined representatives of the Honduran Fire Department here Sept. 9 to honor the 447 first responders who lost their lives in the service of others as a result of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
