U.S. and Brazil Navy Conduct Bilateral Exercise

ATLANTIC OCEAN — ATLANTIC OCEAN - The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82) and Brazilian frigate BNS União (F45) conducted a 5-day maritime exercise September 23-28 that took place off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.

Navy – Coast Guard Team: Four Interdictions in Four Days

The Arleigh Burke-Class Destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82) and the Freedom Variant Littoral Combat Ship USS Detroit (LCS 7) with embarked U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET) teams disrupted a combined 112 bales of suspected contraband worth over $79.6 million between May 24 - 27.

Coast Guard Cutter James offloads approximately 30,000 pounds of cocaine, marijuana at Port Everglades

The Coast Guard Cutter James (WMSL-754) crew offloaded approximately 23,000 pounds of cocaine and approximately 6,900 pounds of marijuana, all worth more than an estimated $408 million, Tuesday in Port Everglades.

USS Lassen, Embarked Coast Guard Team Recover Illegal Drugs in Caribbean

The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82)  with embarked U.S. Coast Guard  (USCG) Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET) team recovered more than 3,500 pounds of marijuana, May 2.  While on routine patrol, approximately 15 miles northeast of Navassa Island an embarked MH-60R Sea Hawk assigned to the “Proud Warriors” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 72, Combat Element (CEL) 2 located a 35-foot go-fast vessel with three suspected drug smugglers aboard throwing packages overboard.
