Newest U.S. Navy Submarine Visits Newest Brazilian Submarine Base

RIO DE JANEIRO — The Virginia-class fast-attack submarine USS Vermont (SSN 792) is operating in the U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations and conducted a brief stop for logistics in Rio de Janeiro Dec. 10-15.

USS William P. Lawrence, Helo Maritime Strike Squadron 37 Save Lives in Honduras

SAN PEDRO SULA VALLEY, Honduras — The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110) and the embarked “Easyriders” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 37 Detachment 7 completed search and rescue (SAR) operations in the areas affected by Hurricane Eta, Nov. 15.

MANTA, Ecuador — Naval forces from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, and the United States commenced UNITAS LXI, an annual multinational exercise, Nov. 2 in Manta, Ecuador.
