Gen. Donovan Meets with Panamanian President Mulino, Senior Security Leaders in Panama

SOUTHCOM Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan has concluded a productive visit to Panama, where he met with Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino and senior government leaders to discuss strengthening the U.S.-Panama security partnership and advancing regional stability.

SOUTHCOM Commander Visits Panama

U.S. Navy Adm. Alvin Holsey, Commander of U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), visited Panama Feb. 19-20, 2025, and met with the nation’s leaders to strengthen cooperation and discuss critical regional challenges.  

U.S. Navy and service members from partner nations participate in U.S. Southern Command PANAMAX 2024 in Mayport, Fla., Aug. 8. PANAMAX is an annual SOUTHCOM-sponsored multinational exercise that focuses on ensuring the defense of the Panama Canal. U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet supports U.S. Southern Command’s joint and combined military operations by employing maritime forces in cooperative maritime security operations to maintain access, enhance interoperability, and build enduring partnerships in order to enhance regional security and promote peace, stability and prosperity in the Caribbean, Central and South American region.

PANAMAX 2024 Kicks Off at Naval Station Mayport

MAYPORT, Fla. — MAYPORT, Fla. -- U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet (USNAVSO/FOURTHFLT) hosts the Combined Force Maritime Component Command (CFMCC) portion of the annual exercise PANAMAX from Aug. 8 through Aug. 16.
