USNS Burlington Departs Kingston, Jamaica for Continuing Promise 2024 Deployment

KINGSTON, Jamaica — KINGSTON, Jamaica -- U.S. Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport ship USNS Burlington (T-EPF 10) departed from Kingston, Jamaica, July 13, 2024 after a five-day visit as part of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet's Continuing Promise 2024 (CP24).

U.S. 4th Fleet Announces Continuing Promise 2024 Deployment

MAYPORT, FL — The U.S. Navy expeditionary fast transport USNS Burlington (T-EPF 10) will deploy this July and August to the U.S. Southern Command area of operations as part of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet’s Continuing Promise 2024 mission. After several months of detailed planning, USNS Burlington is scheduled to visit Jamaica, Costa Rica, Honduras, Colombia, and Panama during the nearly two month-long mission.

TUMBES, Peru (Aug. 9, 2023) Students with the Military Tropical Medicine (MTM) course collect Anopheles mosquito larvae from a stream in order to practice surveillance activities. The MTM course, an educational experience focused on expanding the knowledge of tropical medicine and epidemiology surveillance of tropical diseases, includes a two-week field practicum in Peru coordinated by staff with U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) SOUTH. NAMRU SOUTH, part of the Naval Medical Research & Development enterprise, conducts research on a wide range of infectious diseases of military and public health significance, and supports Global Health Engagement through surveillance of those diseases, including dengue fever, malaria, diarrheal diseases and sexually transmitted infections. USNS Burlington Arrives in Almirante, Panama

ALMIRANTE, PANAMA — USNS Burlington (T-EPF 10) arrived in Almirante, Panama, Aug. 11, marking the first of many stops throughout the course of the Continuing Promise 2023 mission. During Burlington’s time in Panama, U.S. Navy and partner nation medical personnel will work together to provide care in community clinics. The vessel recently returned from participating in UNITAS, the world’s longest-running multinational maritime exercise in the world.

USNS Comfort Completes 12th Iteration of Continuing Promise 2022

NORFOLK, Va. — NORFOLK, Va. -- The hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) returned to its homeport in Norfolk, Virginia, concluding Continuing Promise, Dec. 21, 2022.
