Public Notice – Environmental Assessment for the Construction of a Military Housing Development U.S. Army Garrison-Miami Doral, Florida

Notice is hereby given that the U.S. Army Garrison-Miami (USAG-Miami) has prepared an environmental assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) that evaluates the impacts that could result from constructing and operating a new military housing development in Doral, Florida. The Proposed Action is for USAG-Miami to acquire land south of NW 33rd Street across from the SOUTHCOM headquarters in Doral, Florida and construct a military housing development on up to 75-acres on the northern portion of the property. Alternately, the Army may choose to enter into an Enhanced Use Lease (EUL) agreement with a commercial developer as a means of funding the construction of the military housing. Under the EUL option, a mixed-use residential and commercial development would be constructed on up to 32.5 acres in the southern portion of the property in addition to the military housing constructed on the northern portion of the property.

Copies of the draft EA and FONSI have been provided for public review at the Miami-Dade Public Library located at 8551 NW 53 Street, A107, Doral, Florida 33166, phone number 305-716-9598 and online at:
