CENTAM SMOKE, enhancing regional firefighting and emergency capabilities

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — Joint Task Force-Bravo hosted 29 firefighters from Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Nicaragua at Soto Cano Air Base, from August 21 to 25 for the Central America Sharing Mutual Operational Knowledge and Experiences exercise known as CENTAM SMOKE.

Counterdrug program trains international law enforcement partners

The National Guard Counterdrug Program conducted the first class of its newly developed course aimed at disrupting illicit drug trafficking networks July 10-Aug. 10 .The NG CDP worked closely with U.S. Southern Command to identify Suriname as the first country to send a student to attend the pilot course.

Chapel Hike 73: Developing relationships

EL TALADRO, Comayagua — More than 200 soldiers, airman and marines from Joint Task Force-Bravo and the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force - Southern Command participated in Chapel Hike 73 last Saturday, providing more than 5,000 pounds of donated food for the community of El Taladro in Comayagua, Honduras.

SOUTHCOM Commander visits Paraguay for regional, bilateral meetings

ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay -- U.S. Navy Adm. Kurt W. Tidd, commander of U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), conducted his first official visit to Paraguay July 23-27, where he met with Paraguayan President Horacio Cartés.

Special Ops Competition Brings Teams Together, Southcom Commander Says

WASHINGTON — The commander of U.S. Southern Command said Fuerzas Comando special operations forces competition, hosted by Paraguay this year, brought competitors and key leaders together as families, partners and friends.

Fuerzas Comando 2017 Special Forces Competition Begins in Paraguay

Fuerzas Comando is a multinational special operations skills competition and combating terrorism fellowship program sponsored by U.S. Southern Command and executed by SOCSOUTH. Ten countries have shared the responsibility of hosting the event. The first year the competition was held in El Salvador and 13 countries participated. Since then the involvement in the competition has expanded and Paraguay is this year's hosting country.

Joint Task Force-Bravo participates in Subject Matter Expert Exchange with Honduran police

La Paz, Honduras — A Joint Task Force-Bravo Joint Security Forces team participated in a Subject Matter Expert Exchange with local police forces in La Paz, Honduras on June 20, 2017 to enhance their ability to enter, clear and secure locations.
