Honduran Air Force, US Army partner for first-ever online MEDEVAC training course

Twenty members of the Honduran Air Force graduated from a Basic Aeromedical Evacuation training course provided by Joint Task Force- Bravo, June 19. The three-week academic training course included the participation of 13 nurses and seven doctors stationed at different Honduran Air Force bases, who connected with their JTF-Bravo counterpart from the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment through video chat.

Joining forces maintain operability, provide medical care

Soldiers with the U.S. Army Reserve assigned to Joint Task Force-Bravo conducted a Medical Readiness Training Exercise with Honduran military counterparts in the Atlántida department, Honduras, to provide basic medical services at local schools in the Frutera, Saladito and Boca del Toro villages, August 6 – 8.

MEDEL provides care to El Palmital

On Jan. 31, doctors, nurses, dentists and other health care specialists assigned to Joint Task Force Bravo’s Medical Element aided the Ministry of Health at a local clinic in El Palmital by providing dental, pharmaceutical, lab, preventative medicine, public health and general health services during a medical readiness exercise.

Visiting Colombia, CSAF stresses importance of maintaining close ties to key Latin America ally

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein concluded a two-day visit to Colombia on Thursday, reinforcing bonds with one of the United States’ closest allies in Latin America and pledging to accelerate joint training activities with an air force he called the “gold standard” in the region.

Regional Health Command Central provides pediatric dental services in Honduras

The U.S. Army Regional Health Command Central (RHC-C) deployed a Multi-Specialty Surgical Dental team to work with Joint Task Force Bravo Medical Element (MEDEL) personnel at the Catholic University Dental School in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from the 2nd to the 14th of September, and provided pediatric dental services to school children while enhancing their mission readiness skills and providing humanitarian assistance.

Central American firefighters graduate from exercise CENTAM SMOKE

Joint Task Force-Bravo hosted Exercise Central America Sharing Mutual operational Knowledge and Experiences (CENTAM SMOKE) 2018-2 at Soto Cano Air Base, September 10-14, with firefighters from the 612th Air Base Squadron fire department and 30 participants from Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, El Salvador, Belize and Nicaragua.

Colombian President-elect Ivan Duque visits U.S. Southern Command

MIAMI (July 14, 2018) -- Colombian President-elect Ivan Duque visited U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) headquarters today, where he met with Adm. Kurt Tidd, SOUTHCOM commander and other leaders from the headquarters to learn more about the command and its defense partnership with Colombia. Duque visited the headquarters as he prepares to assume the presidency of Colombia Aug. 7.
