Continuing Promise 2017 Begins Operations in Colombia

U.S. military and embassy personnel along with Colombian service members, police, government officials, and local residents attended the opening ceremony for Continuing Promise 2017’s (CP-17) visit to Mayapo, Colombia, at the mission’s medical site March 23.

Navy Environmental and Preventative Medicine Unit conducts training engagements with Honduran health professionals

Sailors from Navy Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit (NEPMU) 2 used knowledge exchange and training events (KET) to help build partner nation capacity during Continuing Promise 2017’s (CP-17) visit to Trujillo, Honduras.

Continuing Promise to Test Web-Based System Designed to Improve Planning for Medical Missions

Continuing Promise 2017 Begins Honduran Operations

TRUJILLO, Honduras — An opening ceremony marking the start of operations for Continuing Promise 2017’s (CP-17) second mission stop took place Feb. 21 in Trujillo, Honduras. The event was attended by local government officials; U.S. and Honduran military personnel; and the Honorable James Nealon, U.S. Ambassador to Honduras, who highlighted how the two nations’ partnership will make the 10-day mission stop successful.

Preventive Medicine Unit Hosts Outbreak Investigation Workshop during CP-17

PUERTO BARRIOS, Guatemala—Sailors from Navy Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit (NEPMU) 2 hosted an outbreak investigation workshop, Feb. 8, as part of Continuing Promise 2017’s (CP-17) valuable training for partner nation community health workers who may be called to participate in investigations of infectious disease outbreaks.

USNS Spearhead Set to Deploy, Continuing Promise 2017 Begins

Continuing Promise 2017 (CP-17) will begin early next week with the deployment of the Military Sealift Command-operated expeditionary fast transport vessel, USNS Spearhead (T-EPF 1), to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
