Fuerzas Comando 2017 Special Forces Competition Begins in Paraguay

Fuerzas Comando is a multinational special operations skills competition and combating terrorism fellowship program sponsored by U.S. Southern Command and executed by SOCSOUTH. Ten countries have shared the responsibility of hosting the event. The first year the competition was held in El Salvador and 13 countries participated. Since then the involvement in the competition has expanded and Paraguay is this year's hosting country.

Colombian army counter-narcotics brigade honors U.S. Special Forces

FLORENCIA, Colombia – Every December 7 for the past sixteen years, Colombian soldiers from the National Army’s Special Anti-drug Brigade (BRCNA) have gathered in Larandia, Florencia for an end-of-year ceremony to celebrate the unit’s anniversary and recognize distinguished service. Unlike past award ceremonies, this year’s hot December day marked the first time U.S. Special Operations Command South assigned Green Berets marched their unit’s colors across the parade field.

Special operations teams from 20 nations compete in Fuerzas Comando competition

ANCON, Peru, May 12, 2016 — After 11 days of Olympic-level exertion, 160 special operations competitors from 20 countries across the Americas and the Caribbean know through experience how competition and cooperation can coexist. The sport and spirit of Fuerzas Comando, a U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM)-sponsored international competition and partnership, culminated in a closing ceremony May 12, 2016 in Ancon, Peru.
