CHIANTLA, Guatemala- Men, women, young children and elderly citizens all lined up at 4 a.m. outside of gymnasium doors to received medical services. Medical Readiness Training Exercise is a multi-day medical event that offers general health evaluation, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy and preventive medicine as part of annual exercise Beyond the Horizon 2019.

MEDEL provides care to El Palmital

On Jan. 31, doctors, nurses, dentists and other health care specialists assigned to Joint Task Force Bravo’s Medical Element aided the Ministry of Health at a local clinic in El Palmital by providing dental, pharmaceutical, lab, preventative medicine, public health and general health services during a medical readiness exercise.

Army South deploys specialized surgical team to Honduras

To enhance response capabilities, the Regional Health Command Central deployed a trauma surgical team to Honduras, part of the Army South area of operations, to conduct pre-hospital care, trauma care, and work side-by-side with host nation surgeons from 11-25 August at the University School Hospital.

Army medical readiness exercise provides rural Salvadorans with medical, dental care

Army dentists took part in a medical readiness exercise that included Peruvian and Salvadoran doctors and nurses. Of the team of 40, 32 were U.S. Army medical personnel from Combined Joint Task Force Hope participating in the Beyond the Horizon exercise, which is led by U.S. Army South. The larger scope of the humanitarian exercise included construction of clinics and schools.

Service members from the Joint Task Force-Bravo Medical Element participated in a Medical Readiness Training Exercise in Waspam, North Caribbean Autonomous Region of Nicaragua, March 19-24, working side by side with personnel from the Nicaraguan Army and Ministry of Health.

Soldiers from the Wyoming National Guard kicked off the second of three medical readiness events as part of Beyond the Horizon 2017 at Macal River Park in San Ignacio, Belize May 8. BTH 2017 is a U.S. and Belize partnership exercise designed to provide humanitarian and engineering services to communities in need, demonstrating U.S. support for Belize.

MEDRETE and MPE missions support medical care in Honduras

Thirty-four personnel from Joint Task Force-Bravo’s Medical Element, along with Joint Security Forces (JSF) and Joint Support Battalion (JSB), participated in a two-day Medical Readiness Training Exercise (MEDRETE) and a Military Partnership Engagement with the Honduran Armed Forces April 20-22, providing basic medical care for more the 1,500 patients.
