USS Zephyr returns home following counterdrug patrol in Latin America, Caribbean

MAYPORT, Fla. (NNS) -- The Cyclone-class patrol costal ship USS Zephyr (PC 8) and its embarked U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET) returned to its homeport in Mayport, Florida, May 10, following a 56 day patrol in the 4th fleet area of operations conducting Operation Martillo.

A crew member from Coast Guard Cutter Tarpon, an 87-foot Coast Patrol Boat homeported in St. Petersburg, Florida, and his crew offload 1,735 kilograms of cocaine, an estimated wholesale value of $56 million, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, Florida. Coast Guard offloads $56 million of cocaine in St. Petersburg

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Tarpon offloaded approximately 1,735 kilograms of cocaine Wednesday worth an estimated wholesale value of $56 million and transferred custody of eight suspected drug smugglers at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg.

Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk crew returns home following 3-month patrol, seizes more than 13 tons of cocaine

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk returned home Saturday to Key West following a three-month counter-drug patrol in the Pacific Ocean.

Coast Guard Cutter James crew returns home following 60-day inaugural patrol, seizes more than five tons of cocaine

During its maiden voyage, James’ crew contributed to the interdiction of 12 drug-smuggling vessels, detainment and subsequent arrest of 22 suspected drug smugglers and were responsible for the seizure of more than five tons of cocaine bound for the United States.

Several U.S. Coast Guard cutters seized the cocaine in nine interdictions in the Eastern Pacific Ocean from mid-January through February. The load represents eight interdictions of suspected drug smuggling vessels, known as pangas, and once case of seized bales of cocaine dumped by suspected smugglers. The Coast Guard Cutter James crew offloaded approximately 16 tons of cocaine Tuesday in Port Everglades worth an estimated $420 million wholesale seized in international waters off the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

Coast Guard Cutter Spencer returns home; seized $92 million in cocaine

During their patrol, the crew interdicted four drug-laden vessels, resulting in the seizure of approximately 1,400 kilograms (3,080 lbs.) of cocaine worth more than $92 million. They also apprehended 13 suspected smugglers with the help of their deployed helicopter crew.

USCGC Diligence returns home after interdicting $60M worth of cocaine

WILMINGTON, N.C. — The crew of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Diligence returned to Wilmington Tuesday following a 62-day patrol in the Eastern Pacific. The Diligence crew patrolled in support of the Joint Interagency Task Force (JIATF) South in the Eastern Pacific. Along with JIATF South, the U.S. Coast Guard works alongside interagency and international partners to prevent and respond to illegal maritime migration and narcotics smuggling from South and Central America.

Coast Guard offloads $30 million worth of seized cocaine in San Juan, Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The Coast Guard offloaded approximately 2,000 pounds of seized cocaine worth an estimated $30 million in wholesale value and transferred custody of four suspected smugglers to U.S. federal law enforcement authorities at Coast Guard Sector San Juan Sunday.
