IAAFA program acts as force multiplier and security cooperation tool

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- Since 1943 the Inter-American Air Forces Academy has promoted Security Cooperation principles through the delivery of education and training to 23 Western Hemisphere Partner Nations. The academy carries on this tradition by delivering in-residence curriculum encompassing three core tasks: technical, professional military education and aircrew training. The delivery of these competencies across 31 courses relies on the professionalism and expertise of IAAFA’s instructor corps. This group of professionals includes a cadre of Latin American guest instructors, known as Partner Nation Guest Instructors or PNGIs.

Ten IAAFA Students Complete Air Advisory Certification Course

Ten IAAFA, 837 TRS members completed a one week Air Advisor certification course, offered by the Air Advisor Flight, a division of the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Operations School (EOS) at joint Base McGuire –Dix-Lakehurst through a Distance Learning setting.

IAAFA Adapts during COVID-19, Continues International Professional Military Education via Distance Learning

In March 2020, when the nation started shelter-in-place orders due to the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic, the Inter-American Air Forces Academy, which forges international friendship and security cooperations through education and training, coordinated for all of their international students to return to their home countries. Despite relocations, IAAFA got back up and running with distance learning courses facilitated by videoconferencing software and because of that IAAFA’s Alpha Class of 2020 graduated May 15, 2020 via a virtual graduation ceremony.

IAAFA continues decades old tradition with Alamo Wing visit

A 24-year tradition continued as 40 students from the Inter-American Air Forces Academy visited the 433rd Airlift Wing at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland July 18 to learn about the C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft, the maintenance mission and how the Reserve Citizen Airmen maintainers keep their Air Force Reserve Command of C-5Ms battle operational.
