The Lesser Antilles Medical Assistance Team mission is underway for a second year of health engagements across four nations, beginning in Suriname, 19 Feb. Further medical assistance teams under the LAMAT 2024 mission will travel to St. Lucia, St. Vincent, St. Kitts and Nevis through March 29.

LAMAT Dental Team First to Treat Patients at New Redi Doti Dental Clinic

The dental team of the Lesser Antilles Medical Assistance Team (LAMAT) was the first to see patients in a newly opened dental clinic in Redi Doti, Suriname on Monday. The Youth Dental Care Foundation’s (JTV) Redi Doti clinic will serve patients in rural communities, making dental services and preventative care more easily accessible.

The National Guard Counterdrug Program conducted the first class of its newly developed course aimed at disrupting illicit drug trafficking networks July 10-Aug. 10 .The NG CDP worked closely with U.S. Southern Command to identify Suriname as the first country to send a student to attend the pilot course.
