The Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Milwaukee (LCS 5), with embarked U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET) 104, seized an estimated $27.4 million in suspected cocaine during an interdiction at sea, Feb. 28, 2023.

Coast Guard offloads more than $160 million in illegal narcotics

The crew of the USCGC Spencer (WMEC 905) offloaded approximately 4810 kilos of cocaine worth over $160.3 million in Port Everglades, Wednesday. Along with the illicit narcotics, eight suspected smugglers were apprehended and face prosecution in federal court by the Department of Justice.

U.S. Army advisors strengthen partnership with Colombia’s fire support command

U.S. Army advisors assigned to 4th Battalion, 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade, traveled to La Guajira region of Colombia alongside Comando de Apoyo de Fuegos, Colombia’s fire support command, in mid-December to assess their procedures and technical prowess in planning and executing field artillery missions using 155m Howitzer cannons.
