South American Air Chiefs, Senior Enlisted Leader Conference builds partnerships as the strategy toward progress

Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) hosted the South American Air Chiefs and Senior Enlisted Leaders Conference. Air Chiefs, or a designated representative, from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru attended the conference. This year’s conference included South American Senior Enlisted Leaders for the first time. This was part of an U.S. Southern Command initiative to aid in developing the enlisted force of our partner nations.

Latin American Air Force cadets tour US, build partnerships throughout the hemisphere

Future leaders of 11 Latin American Air Forces visited 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) on the tail-end of their visit through the United States, as part of the Latin American Cadet Initiative. The twenty-two cadets represented air forces from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.

The hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) arrived in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, for its tenth medical mission stop in Central America, South America and the Caribbean, Oct. 14. While in Santo Domingo, U.S. service members and medical professionals will work alongside partner and host nation staff to provide much-needed medical assistance in communities with urgent health care needs and demonstrate the commitment to strengthen regional medical capacity.
