Fleet Surgical Team 2 Joins USS Arlington for Haiti Mission

ATLANTIC OCEAN — Fleet Surgical Team (FST) 2 joined the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24) as the ship departed Norfolk to support the United States Agency for International Development/Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USAID/BHA) led humanitarian assistance and disaster relief effort in Haiti to save lives and ease suffering following a 7.2-magnitute earthquake on Aug. 14, 2021.

Global Health Engagement in action: Trinidad and Tobago

Each year, U.S. Navy personnel deploy to Partner Nations (PNs) in the Caribbean including Central and South America as part of Southern Partnership Station (SPS) to strengthen partnerships and improve interoperability. As part of SPS 2018, I was responsible for an eleven person Global Fleet Health Engagement Team (GHET) in Trinidad and Tobago (TTO).

MEDEL provides care to El Palmital

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — On Jan. 31, doctors, nurses, dentists and other health care specialists assigned to Joint Task Force Bravo’s Medical Element aided the Ministry of Health at a local clinic in El Palmital by providing dental, pharmaceutical, lab, preventative medicine, public health and general health services during a medical readiness exercise.
