The equipment, from U.S. Southern Command, will be used to help clear the last remaining part of the country's southern border so it can be returned to the local population for farming and other activities.

Ecuadorian civil engineers recently welcomed a team of Air National Guard, active-duty Air Force and civilian personnel from U.S. Southern Command to observe, train and equip a battalion of demining soldiers.

Florida Guard exchanges expertise with Guyana Defense Force

Guyana Defense Force members and U.S. Army Soldiers with the B/2-54th Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB) and 107th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment exchanged skills and experiences in Guyana March 23 as part of the State Partnership Program (SPP).

Senior leaders from the South Dakota National Guard visited the Republic of Suriname, South Dakota’s State Partnership Program nation, Nov. 22-26 to reinforce the partnership between the SDNG and Suriname military while supporting Suriname’s 46th year of independence at their National Day celebration.

State Partnership Program: Argentine Ambassador to the U.S. visits Georgia National Guard

MARIETTA, Georgia — Jorge Martín Arturo Argüello, the Argentine ambassador to the U.S., visited the Marietta-based 4th Civil Support Team, 201st Regional Support Group, Georgia Army National Guard headquarters at Clay National Guard Center Oct. 19.

South Carolina National Guard conducts “Band-Aids not bullets diplomacy” in Colombia

Rionegro, Colombia — South Carolina Army and Air National Guard medical personnel conducted a real-world humanitarian medical mission in the remote town of Tamana, Colombia last weekend during the regional Ángel de los Andes (Angel of the Andes) and Cooperación VII exercises. Approximately 30 members of the South Carolina National Guard are participating in the exercises from August 30 to September 10.

WVNG helps prepare Peru military for peacekeeping mission

LIMA, Peru — Two members of the West Virginia National Guard helped prepare members of the Peruvian Army and Marine Corps for a global peacekeeping mission as part of the ongoing relationship between West Virginia and Peru through the State Partnership Program.

West Virginia ANG hosts inaugural air-to-air staff talks with Peru

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AFNS) — The workshop brought together key personnel from 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern), Military Assistance & Advisory Group (MAAG) – U.S. Embassy Lima, the Air Forces Southern liaison officer from Peru, Assistant Air Attaché to the Embassy of Peru in Washington, D.C., Peruvian Air Force Maj. Gen. José Luis Barrios Espinosa, and representatives from the WVANG.

U.S. Service Members Converge in Costa Rica for a Trilateral Leadership Exchange

United States Noncommissioned officers (NCO) from the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC), two U.S. Marines from U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South (MARFORSOUTH), and one U.S. soldier from the New Mexico National Guard State Partnership Program, converged in Costa Rica for a five day trilateral workshop to enhance NCO Core competencies and best practices for NCO corps and leadership development.
