CENTAM Guardian 23 kicks off with an opening ceremony

Soldiers and interagency partners conducting the exercise will employ specific occupational skills such as special operations, naval warfare, military intelligence, K-9 handlers, cyber warfare, medics, civil affairs, aviation and support personnel, to employ real world based scenarios for partner nation militaries to exercise, assess, and update tactics and procedures.

Planners from U.S. Army South Mobility, 167th Theater Sustainment Command, and U.S. Northern Command met with Guyanese port operations personnel Feb. 3 to discuss inbound and outbound operations at the seaport of debarkation to ensure rapid movement of logistics during the upcoming TRADEWINDS23 exercise to take place in the summer of 2023.

More than 300 U.S. and Colombian soldiers stood tall in formation on the parade field of Tolemaida Military Base, Colombia, during the opening ceremony of Exercise Southern Vanguard 23 (ExSV23). Exercise Southern Vanguard is U.S. Army South's premier annual training exercise taking place at the operational and tactical levels intended to increase interoperability between the United States and Western Hemisphere forces.

Representatives from U.S. Army South traveled to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to lead a Central American Working Group, or CENTAM WG, meeting during a three-day event held from Sept. 7-9, 2022. The CENTAM WG includes armies from three Latin American nations: El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

Brazilian Army leadership lauds opportunity to train with U.S. Army at JRTC

Prior to his soldiers arriving to the Joint Readiness Training Center, or JRTC, at Fort Polk, Louisiana, to take part in a bilateral training exercise, Gen. Estevam Cals Theophilo, commander, Brazilian Army Land Operations Command, emphasized the importance of his troops being ready for the next conflict.

U.S. Army South hosted the 35th cycle of the Conference of American Armies Specialized Conference on Interoperability and Strategic Planning at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston last week which included participants representing 16 armies across North and South America.
