U.S. 4th Fleet Announces Continuing Promise 2023 Deployment

The U.S. Navy expeditionary fast transport USNS Burlington (T-EPF 10) will deploy to the U.S. Southern Command area of operations over the next two months as part of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet's Continuing Promise 2023 mission.

Tradewinds 23 Exercise Highlights Multinational Partnerships

Tradewinds 23, a two-week multinational exercise supporting the security of the Caribbean and Central America, wrapped up with a closing ceremony July 27. The training exercise involved 21 nations and more than 1,500 people from all branches of the U.S. military, civilians, and law enforcement across the partner nations.

CENTAM Guardian 23 kicks off with an opening ceremony

Soldiers and interagency partners conducting the exercise will employ specific occupational skills such as special operations, naval warfare, military intelligence, K-9 handlers, cyber warfare, medics, civil affairs, aviation and support personnel, to employ real world based scenarios for partner nation militaries to exercise, assess, and update tactics and procedures.

Department of Defense Engagement in the Western Hemisphere

This fact sheet is released on the occasion of the XV Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas (CDMA), which convened on July 25-29, 2022, in Brasilia, Brazil, hosted by the Brazilian Ministry of National Defense. CDMA is the premier hemispheric defense ministerial for strategic-level engagement with the top defense officials of the Americas, and convenes every two years. U.S. Secretary of Defense William Perry established and hosted the first CDMA in 1995. U.S. Secretaries of Defense have attended every CDMA since its inception. Chile’s Ministry of National Defense hosted the last CDMA virtually in 2020.
