SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – U.S. Navy Adm. Kurt Tidd, commander of U.S. Southern Command, addresses chiefs of defense and public security ministers from 21 partner nations while opening the fifteenth Caribbean Nations Security Conference (CANSEC) Dec. 7 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The leaders attended the annual conference through Dec. 8 to examine trends, challenges and threats impacting stability in the Caribbean and define a collective strategy to improve their forces’ collaboration in support of regional security.
