U.S. Military Medical Team Provides Care in Guatemala

CHIANTLA, Guatemala- Men, women, young children and elderly citizens all lined up at 4 a.m. outside of gymnasium doors to received medical services. Medical Readiness Training Exercise is a multi-day medical event that offers general health evaluation, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy and preventive medicine as part of annual exercise Beyond the Horizon 2019.

Global Health Engagement in action: Trinidad and Tobago

Each year, U.S. Navy personnel deploy to Partner Nations (PNs) in the Caribbean including Central and South America as part of Southern Partnership Station (SPS) to strengthen partnerships and improve interoperability. As part of SPS 2018, I was responsible for an eleven person Global Fleet Health Engagement Team (GHET) in Trinidad and Tobago (TTO).

Navy Entomologists Team Up to Build Disease Detection Capacity in Honduras

Entomologists from the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit No. 6 (NAMRU-6) and the Navy Entomology Center of Excellence (NECE) partnered with Joint Task Force-Bravo Medical Element (JTF-B MEDEL) preventive medicine to develop a disease detection capability for the region. This cutting-edge work is supported by the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Board-Global Emerging Infections Surveillance (GEIS).
