Navy Entomologists Team Up to Build Disease Detection Capacity in Honduras

Entomologists from the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit No. 6 (NAMRU-6) and the Navy Entomology Center of Excellence (NECE) partnered with Joint Task Force-Bravo Medical Element (JTF-B MEDEL) preventive medicine to develop a disease detection capability for the region. This cutting-edge work is supported by the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Board-Global Emerging Infections Surveillance (GEIS).

U.S. Navy medical professionals assigned to Southern Partnership Station’s (SPS) Fleet Health Engagement Team (FHET) arrived in Honduras Sept. 14 to begin subject matter expert exchanges (SMEE) and partner capacity building engagements with Honduran medical and emergency management professionals in Tegucigalpa as part of SPS 2018.

U.S. and Chilean air force conduct health services administration subject matter expert exchange

SANTIAGO, Chile — U.S. medical personnel from across the Air Force held a health services administration subject matter expert exchange with the Chilean air force at Hospital Clínico, Santiago, June 4-8.
