Coast Guard offloads 14,000 pounds of marijuana and 3,660 pounds of cocaine at Port Everglades

MIAMI — The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bear (WMEC-901) offloaded approximately 14,000 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $12.5 million wholesale and 3,660 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $50 million wholesale Thursday at Port Everglades seized in international waters in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

Guyana to Host New Horizons Humanitarian Assistance Exercise

New Horizons, the U.S. Southern Command’s annual training exercise, kicks off in Linden next month. The three month event will train U.S. military civil engineers and medical professionals, who will work alongside Guyanese military and health professionals in joint humanitarian assistance exercises.
