Global Health Engagement in action: Trinidad and Tobago

Navy Doctors Join Brazilian Hospital Ship Mission Along the Amazon River

On Feb. 4, 2019, Brazilian Navy Oswaldo Cruz-class hospital ship NAsH Carlos Chagas (U 19) departed Manaus, Brazil with four U.S. Navy physicians embarked to work alongside their Brazilian Navy counterparts and deliver medical care to a series of small villages peppering the coastline of the Amazon River over the course of one month.

MEDEL provides care to El Palmital

On Jan. 31, doctors, nurses, dentists and other health care specialists assigned to Joint Task Force Bravo’s Medical Element aided the Ministry of Health at a local clinic in El Palmital by providing dental, pharmaceutical, lab, preventative medicine, public health and general health services during a medical readiness exercise.
