Coast Guard Cutter Spencer returns home; seized $92 million in cocaine

During their patrol, the crew interdicted four drug-laden vessels, resulting in the seizure of approximately 1,400 kilograms (3,080 lbs.) of cocaine worth more than $92 million. They also apprehended 13 suspected smugglers with the help of their deployed helicopter crew.

Navy Environmental and Preventative Medicine Unit conducts training engagements with Honduran health professionals

Sailors from Navy Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit (NEPMU) 2 used knowledge exchange and training events (KET) to help build partner nation capacity during Continuing Promise 2017’s (CP-17) visit to Trujillo, Honduras.

Katia Rivera, a native of Puerto Rico, assigned to Public Health Activity-Fort Belvoir, Va., and Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Nathan Rock, attached to Naval Station Everett, Wash., inspect a dog for fleas during a veterinary check-up in support of Continuing Promise 2017's (CP-17) visit to Trujillo, Honduras. Continuing Promise to Test Web-Based System Designed to Improve Planning for Medical Missions

TRUJILLO, Honduras—Continuing Promise 2017 (CP-17) will participate in the advanced testing phase of a web-based tool that will assist in the development of future cooperative health engagement (CHE) missions.

Members of the 1-228 AVN’s MEDEVAC Company transport a critically ill U.S. military retiree from a hospital in Siguatepeque to Tegucigalpa for further care Feb 18. The MEDEVAC Company is assigned to Joint Task Force – Bravo at Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras. The company trains daily for critical missions such as these and on this day were able to put all their training and skills into action for a real world mission that helped save a life. JTF-Bravo provides life-saving medical evacuation

SIGUATEPEQUE, Honduras — Joint Task Force - Bravo’s Medical Element and the 1st Battalion, 228 Aviation Regiment provided vital medical support that helped save the life of a U.S. military retiree here Feb. 18.
