Coast Guard offloads approximately 16 tons of cocaine in Port Everglades

The Coast Guard Cutter James crew offloaded approximately 16 tons of cocaine Tuesday in Port Everglades worth an estimated $420 million wholesale seized in international waters off the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

Air advisors, Colombian military accomplish joint training effort

BOGOTA, Colombia — The 571st Mobility Support Advisory Squadron alongside Airmen from five other squadrons spent three weeks Building Partner Capacity with the Colombian Air Force in air operation, aeromedical evacuation, propeller balance, zodiac rigging and medical intelligence courses.

MAYAPO, Colombia (March 25, 2017) - Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Joshua Crisano, a native of Williamsburg, Va., assigned to Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Fla., teaches physical therapy stretches to the mother of a host nation child at the Continuing Promise 2017 (CP-17) medical site in Mayapo, Colombia. CP-17 is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored and U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet-conducted deployment to conduct civil-military operations including humanitarian assistance, training engagements, and medical, dental, and veterinary support in an effort to show U.S. support and commitment to Central and South America. Collaboration and Wealth of Experience Brought Together in Key West with CBSI’s Technical Assistance Field Team

When it comes to combating transnational criminal organizations in the Caribbean and securing America’s borders, the cooperation with partner nations in the region continues to thrive. This relationship was tangible as representatives from Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Kitts and Nevis, Bahamas, and the United States gathered at U.S. Coast Guard Sector Key West, Florida, to exchange ideas, best practices and maintenance concepts for short range patrol craft and coastal security boats.

U.S. Army South, in partnership with the Belize Defence Force (BDF), and the Ministries of Defence, Health, and Education are proud to announce “Beyond the Horizon 2017” (BTH), a collaborative training exercise involving numerous U.S., Belizean, and international participants.BTH will provide free medical and dental services, as well as build medical and educational facilities from March 25, 2017 and is scheduled to end the second week of June, 2017.

Chilean, U.S. Soldiers learn food protection in an expeditionary environment

A team of veterinarians from U.S. Army South and the U.S. Army Medical Center and School, participated in a subject matter expert exchange with approximately 40 Chilean military and civilian veterinarians March 6-9 in Santiago. The group met to discuss the execution of food safety and food defense programs in underdeveloped regions which lack adequate public health services.
