Comfort Deployment 2019 Completes Medical Mission in Peru

The hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) completed its medical mission in Peru, the second of twelve stops in Central America, South America and the Caribbean during a closing ceremony, July 14.

SCANG participates in Colombian Air Show and Key Leader Engagement

More than 60 U.S. Airmen and four F-16C Fighting Falcon aircraft from the 169th Fighter Wing, McEntire Joint National Guard Base, Columbia, South Carolina, participated in the Feria Aeronáutica Internacional Rionegro (F-AIR) in Rionegro, Colombia, July 11-14 as part of the National Guard’s State Partnership Program (SPP). In addition, following the airshow, the SCANG will take part in a joint exercise with the Colombian Air Force known as Relampago 4.

USNS Comfort Arrives in Peru to Provide Medical Assistance

Hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) arrived in Callao, Peru, for the second mission stop of its 2019 deployment, July 8. U.S. service members and medical professionals will work alongside international partner and host nation medical professionals to provide much-needed medical assistance in communities with urgent health care needs, including local populations and vulnerable Venezuelans who have fled to Peru from the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela.

Medical Readiness Training Exercise is a multi-day medical event that offers general health evaluation, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy and preventive medicine as part of annual exercise Beyond the Horizon 2019.
