1-228th Aviation Regiment and U.S. Navy build Central American support capability

U.S. Army pilots and crew assigned to the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment (1-228), Joint Task Force-Bravo completed deck landing qualifications with the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Billings (LCS 15) off the coast of El Salvador, July 15 and 16, 2022.

Resolute Sentinel medical personnel support ultrasound capabilities in rural Honduras

Members of the 774th Expeditionary Operational Medical Readiness Squadron, under the command of the 474th Air Expeditionary Group, conducted an evidence-based knowledge exchange with local healthcare providers on the installation and use of a diagnostic ultrasound system in Orocuina, Honduras, June 29 as part of exercise Resolute Sentinel 22 (RS22).

Joint Interagency Task Force South Changes Command

Joint Interagency Task Force-South held a change of command ceremony at the Tennessee Williams Theatre in Key West July 15, 2022. U.S. Coast Guard Rear Adm. Douglas Fears relinquished Command to U.S. Coast Guard Rear Adm. Mark Fedor during the ceremony attended by members of the task force, dozens of dignitaries from foreign partner nations and officials from the local community.

Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) personnel participated in a Planning in Crisis (PIC) conference June 22-30, in Panama City, Panama, in which air component planners from 10 Caribbean and Latin American countries coordinated air force operations for the upcoming PANAMAX 2022 exercise.

PANAMAX Planning-In-Crisis Training Strengthens Partnerships

Hosted by U.S. Army South, military representatives from 15 partner nations attended the PANAMAX 2022 Functional Component Planning-In-Crisis training, June 22 – 30, 2022, in Panama City, Republic of Panama. Countries participating included Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, Spain, Uruguay, and the United States.

Joint Task Force-Bravo, in coordination with COPECO, representatives of the Honduran Armed Forces, governmental and cooperating entities in Honduras, and the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID/BHA), conducted a joint exercise in Tegucigalpa to improve disaster response coordination, June 22-23.

Resolute Sentinel 22: Sharing Knowledge and Building Partnerships

U.S. military medics arrived in San Salvador, El Salvador June 5, 2022, to integrate with the El Salvadoran military and medical staff at Hospital Militar Central for Operation Resolute Sentinel 22. Resolute Sentinel 22 provides joint training and improved readiness for U.S. civil engineers, medical professionals and support personnel through humanitarian assistance activities in El Salvador.
