El Salvador sends the first female firefighter to participate in CENTAM SMOKE

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — A female firefighter from the Fire Department of El Salvador was the first to participate in CENTAM SMOKE at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, from April 22-26, 2024.

The training further built confidence between the maintainers and aviators supporting U.S. Southern Command, and highlights one of JTF-Bravo's means of aerial recovery of inoperative and lightly and heavily damaged helicopters using medium-lift and heavy-lift helicopters as the recovery vehicles.

1-228th Aviation Regiment trains on UMARK

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — The 1-228th Aviation Regiment trained on rigging a Unit Maintenance Aerial Recovery Kit to an Alpha Company's UH-60 Blackhawk on Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, Nov. 2, 2023.

This training highlighted the vehicle's capabilities and limitations in a humanitarian aid or disaster response.

JTF-Bravo Engineers test eBee TAC Survey Drone

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — Joint Task Force-Bravo J-7 Engineers hosted a eBee Tactical Survey Drone training event in Humuya, Honduras, Oct. 24, 2023. This training highlighted the vehicle's capabilities and limitations in a humanitarian aid or disaster response.

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — Firefighters with the 612th Air Base Squadron, a unit under the 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern), the air force component of the United States Southern Command, will host a new iteration of exercise CENTAM SMOKE, a biannual training exercise to enhance firefighting and rescue capabilities, August 8 – 12 at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras.

Resolute Sentinel medical personnel support ultrasound capabilities in rural Honduras

CHOLUTECA, Honduras — Members of the 774th Expeditionary Operational Medical Readiness Squadron, under the command of the 474th Air Expeditionary Group, conducted an evidence-based knowledge exchange with local healthcare providers on the installation and use of a diagnostic ultrasound system in Orocuina, Honduras, June 29 as part of exercise Resolute Sentinel 22 (RS22).
