La Paz, Comayagua Police force receives training

COMAYAGUA, Honduras — To further strengthen the knowledge of the local police forces, 115 members of the National Police force Comayagua and La Paz participated in a Subject matter Exchange with Joint Security Forces personnel from Joint Task Force-Bravo, stationed at Soto Cano Air Base in Palmerola, Comayagua.

Navy Deploys P-8A Poseidon Aircraft to Search for Missing Republic of Korea Crew

The U.S. Navy deployed a Boeing P-8A Poseidon maritime aircraft to Galeão Air Force Base in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Apr. 6 to search for members assigned to a missing Republic of Korea vessel.

U.S. Wants to Remain 'Partner of Choice' in Latin America

WASHINGTON — The United States wants to remain the "partner of choice" in Latin America by providing better options than other entities in the region, Navy Adm. Kurt W. Tidd, the commander of U.S. Southern Command, said in an interview with DoD News.

Air Force C-130 Aircraft Deploy to Peru for Flood-Relief Mission

DORAL, Fla. — At the request of the Peruvian government, two U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft from Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, flew to Lima, Peru, to support ongoing U.S. disaster assistance to communities devastated by floods resulting from torrential rainfall in the country’s northern region.

Colombian ambassador visits IAAFA

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas — The school house teaches a range of courses, including topics like aircraft maintenance, ground defense, search-and-rescue planning, cyber security, antiterrorism and becoming an instructor or pilot. There are more than 30 different courses available all together, all taught in Spanish.

Coast Guard Cutter James crew returns home following 60-day inaugural patrol, seizes more than five tons of cocaine

During its maiden voyage, James’ crew contributed to the interdiction of 12 drug-smuggling vessels, detainment and subsequent arrest of 22 suspected drug smugglers and were responsible for the seizure of more than five tons of cocaine bound for the United States.

The crew of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Stratton offloaded approximately six tons of cocaine in San Diego, Friday, March 31, 2017. Several U.S. Coast Guard cutters seized the cocaine in nine interdictions in the Eastern Pacific Ocean from mid-January through February. The load represents eight interdictions of suspected drug smuggling vessels, known as pangas, and once case of seized bales of cocaine dumped by suspected smugglers.
